shocking lips

"Are there ways for gauging one's spiritual strength?"
"Many."
"Give us one."
"Find out how often you become disturbed in the course of a single day."
Anthony de Mello

Like holding back a tender kiss when its all you've ever wanted to give, and then taking a tentative step into the blurry kindling of desire, astonishing in its intensity. One minute you're in control living insulated and orderly. Suddenly, this rush of awareness, disturbing in its intensity flashes like embers asking for more kindling. Is there anything more spiritually felt and disturbing at the same time as a simple kiss on the lips? It is more divine than we want to admit.

May this year be the year of snogging.

OMG! I love this. I was driving into work this morning thinking it's been a long time since I had a nice snuggle with a cute boy. hahahaha And then I read this. LOVE IT!!!

I tried that but her husband took offence. So what if I am disturbed all day?

embers asking to be kindled...I love that image.
Oh and nothing quite like the rush that comes with a kiss communicating passion :) Have a great day Dana

niki...no, here! right here! (pointing to my lips)

Stacey...one of the truly exceptional gifts we Canadian girls have to offer cute boys, eh? Canadian boys are pretty good at it too. I think it has to do with the exceptionally cold fu**ing weather! OMG! I'm glad I'm home today and not at work....though just got in from a run to the store and just about froze my ass off.
Stay bundled up....and if you can, find that cute boy to snuggle with at lunch time.

Rick...one stolen kiss equals three disturbed human beings. I'd say that's a good bang for you're buck.

Katie....I was sitting by the fire last night sipping wine in the quiet calm of the evening. The flames were licking up from the embers in a mesmerizing way. I was struck by the passion of the fire. It made me think of the heat of a kiss.

Amen to snogging this year!!:) Part of my new year's eve was spent singing with my dad at their church...I arrived early while they were all still eating dinner. I wanted to take a pic of my parents kissing in the new year. Well, I couldn't believe the gasps from the rest of the table. They thought that was the craziest thing they had heard. I was baffled. I guess I come from a family where it is okay to show public displays of affection. My parents are quite affectionate, especially for 75 year olds!!!!:) I will be posting their kiss soon on my blog and will answer your email soon too..thanks for all the links!!:) Were you in that blizzard that hit the maritimes yesterday? It looked nasty on the tv! Stay warm by that fire and enjoy the snogging!!:)

m2p...may the nip of electricity from a kiss meet you at least once everyday this year. :)

Karyne....isn't it funny how uncomfortable people are about affection? it makes me believe in the power of one simple kiss and the underlying sense of intimacy it can project.

Fredericton got a pass on the recent blizzard, though we had two days of wickedly cold winds which have finally calmed down. It hit Moncton and east. PEI and NS were basically shut down for two days. The Confederation bridge closed....(can you imagine driving on that in a wind and snowstorm? PASS!) and the ferries to NFLD were cancelled.
It's bloody cold here...but the sun is shining.

karyne...I didn't know that! Interesting... Layla and I have been blogfriends almost since the beginning of my blog debut. :) And you know how we found one another? through our admiration of Henri Nouwen!! Isn't that funny, after our recent emails about him?

beautiful MIW....like riding a bike...you never really forget ....just put you lips together and blow....no,no...i mean....just wet those lips and pucker up....

now get out there and surprise someone! :)

Not so sure about the snogging? but embracing awareness through more of Anthony De Meolo; now that is something else. I have couple of video tapes of him speaking to some American students; an amazing character.

Judy....I'm sorry I missed you! I'm working from memory too....must rectify that!

Gypsy...like the wording...:)

David....I would love to see a video of him. I bet he comes across as quite animated. He is yet another brilliant bright light who burned out too young. Nouwen, de Mello and O'Donahue.
