"memories come back to haunt me....."

This is my fourth Springsteen song lyric post. Yeah, have been working on a theme! I've also tried to write four distinctive pieces of writing this week.....a story, a poem, and an informational piece. Tonight .......... drumroll puhleeeeeze ...... something for Nashville. Just need someone to twang out a tune on their geeetar....any takers??

My Somebody Closer

Just poured a second cup of coffee,
Waiting for the dawn
I'm filled with haunting memories
In the body of our song
Of a day so long forgotten
In the rippling of the years
I'm lost in your soft expression
Trying to hold back my tears.
______
Can you be my somebody closer
Instead of a figment in my dreams
Or will you haunt my waking everyday
Your laughing eyes unseen
I want to live out our memories
Our love captured in the breeze
This is my early morning yearning
Please set my heart at ease.
________

We walked away in silence

too young to see ahead

No fairy tale ending binds us

Our separate ways instead

Yet through the fog of lonely

I see your shadow on my soul

I'm aching for your fingers touch

Your roughworn hand to hold.

______

Can you be my somebody closer
Instead of a figment in my dreams
Or will you haunt my waking everyday
Your laughing eyes unseen
I want to live out our memories
Our love captured in the breeze
This is my early morning yearning
Please set my heart at ease.

_________

There you go! It needs a couple more verses, but my honky tonk is tired. If anyone is interested in carrying on, please by all means.....Daisy?

Gypsy...thank you. Do you think I have a chance to make it in Nashville? ;)

Murf...Good to see you! Glad to be able to refresh that itch for you. Its a contagious little ditty, eh? I wonder if it would make any others feel the same way? Will have to radio ahead to the Captain to inquire.

Well, this is quite quite WONDERFUL! And would be a great challange to set to music....I need to give this some thought.
You are so very talented Dana....My Goodness! You can do anything with that pen of yours!

Tabitha...it truly needs a harmonica sound. go for it.

Niki....a little bit country, and little rock and roll....and a whole lot of folk. YEAH!

Naomi....I'm THRILLED you like it. I'm sure there are a couple of other verses in my finger tips.....it needs two more. Would LOVE to hear what you could do with it.
