When It Comes My Turn

It's not too often one hears a song for the very first time and it automatically settles into the sweet spot of comfort and smiles into your own heart. I heard this song last fall on a local CBC Atlantic Airwaves radio show and fell in love with it. Absolutely........feet first.

David Myles, who I think was originally from Fredericton and now living in Halifax, penned this simple beauty and it must've come from a very special place in his soul because it fits him like a silk glove.
Since the first time I heard it, I've been looking for it.............I saw Myles perform it on the East Coast Music Awards......and that was it. Until yesterday........

Turns out,
David Myles was honoured with the International Folk Song Award for his beautiful ditty........and it will no doubt be release to a larger audience soon. Today, I heard that Willie Nelson is planning on recording it.......... Here is the link to the original song, before Willie puts his twang to it.

Enjoy......
WHEN IT COMES MY TURN

with a smile on your face.........................

I'm getting old, but I'm not old yet.............

This song will be a huge hit...........let it soak into your own sweet spot now............

Shasta Daisy???? You out there??? I think you'll love this one!! xo

I wanna dance and sing with a smile on my face.......I guess I'm a folkie at heart.

This one was so good, it was worth posting twice!!

Oh my, Muskie, what a great song! I do love it and I'm going to learn me how to play it too.

That East Coast of yours just keeps turning up treasures - no wonder you love it so much.

Rachel may be off to Dalhousie for Grad work next year, so we may just have to start the old (much loved) Big Island - Halifax trek again.

She won a great award at Queen's (got it yesterday). It is given at graduation "to the Physical and Health Education student who is deemed by the selection committee best able to promote among his or her classmates an appreciation of the needs of the individual and of the community and of the application of their knowledge and abilities for the common good of all, particularly those who are disadvantaged",

I think that she and Martha may share some things in common!

I knew you'd love the song, and can't wait to hear you play it.....oh and lead a bunch of old fart camp counsellors in a sing along. It will be a hit with them too.
