Our son turned 10 this weekend. 10 means he's moving beyond the status of our little boy. 10 means that you can be a comedian AND a professional ballplayer AND a musician, AND a mathematician AND a lawyer all at the same time. Yes! A lawyer......like his Grandpa Buzzie. He HAS been told that comedians normally try to knock the whole profession down in their stand up gigs.....so he can mock himself I guess. He'll never be far away from a good joke.
A few Max photos.......to share.
Happy Birthday Sir Maxwell.
Ready to steal home just like Aaron Hill of the Jays against the Yanks at the game we attended in May
After a Jays game in August (wearing the new Aaron Hill official shirt). It was a day just for the two of us. We had a great time.
The motley crew Friday night hanging out at the mini putt. Basketball, night tag, movie watching and sleep over ensued at our house. Topped off with a Saturday morning breakie of cinnamon flapjacks, crispy bacon and yummy maple syrup, lovingingly prepared by the early morning riser in this family.......Me! YES.......... This is what 10 looks like.

Happy bday to your son
I remember 10 when my son was that age in fact it is normally how I see my son even though he is 19
why? because he was 10 when me and his dad divorced and his dad took them off and caused me to fight custody
so I missed alot of 11-16 years and he graduated at 16 and became a man early
hang on to this time because after they grow fast physically and mentally

just jen....too funny....they are just shorter men.
november rain....they do grow up very quickly. In fact, I can't believe my little guy is 10. It seems like just yesterday he was in my arms day and night as a babe nursing.
Your struggle for custody must've been unbelievably painful and stressful. I can understand how and why you see your son at age 10. Thank you for sharing that.
Happy Birthday Max - fantastic photos.
10 was a crisis moment for me with Richard - in fact I remember sitting up most of the night and posting and trying to process it all...
however, it's been great, I've loved it yet found it scary ~ a bit like a rollercoaster in the dark... but the most amazing fun too...now I've got over the initial fear that is.
yay boys are fun :) enjoy, x
He has such a gorgeous cheeky smile ,
Happy 10th birthday xx
Katie: Boys are such fun.....he melts my heart in a different way than my daughter......both are special but very different.
Shaz....yes, he does have a cheeky smile, which goes with his blue eyes. It's a good cheek though! He is one funny little dude and quite sentimental too....always telling me how much he loves me spontaneously. Love it.
Hello Michele sent me...just in time to wish the boy a very happy birthday. 10 is a great age!!! May he have many, many more!
Happy Birthday, growing mini-awareness! (But don't tell him that I called him that -- I know he'd hate it:-)
But you can see in his eyes that he's hitting that new stage of awareness of the world around: why, a few years from now he'll even choose to keep up with the news, and become serious as well as funny. But do make sure he keeps the funny:-)
N.
Happy Birthday to Max! What a good looking kid. Sounds like he has quite a personality too. Love the last photo, there's nothing like a group of boys posing for pic, you never know what you'll get )
Hi Sara....thank you. He had a great b-day, he's informed me. We bought him a guitar which is just what he wanted. I hope he sticks with the lessons and learns to play it well. He loves music....and it would be a good fall back if lawyering doesn't pan out.
Hey N. Though I know I'm completely biased, but I have to say that Max was born with awareness and curiosity. I wish I had kept a journal of all of the bizarre and interesting questions he has asked......and the wide ranging topics he has spent time perseverating and collecting bits of information on since he learned to talk. His knowledge base on Sweden for example is quite uncanny and weird at the same time.....all because of his love of Mats Sundin (Go Leafs). He got Chad stuck in his craw when he was 5 and drove us crazy with questions on this African country neither of us had ever really thought about. Sharks, hockey, planets, God, Manatees (he still has a thing for Manatees), all endangered animals, rivers, capitals, did I mention hockey??...baseball, basketball, music, tides, constellations ....the kid's brain never shuts off. then, he can turn around and zing us with his wit.....or make up words to a familiar tune and crack us all up.
YES>.......I hope he maintains his sense of humour or he may turn into a geek (this is his sister's biggest fear.......she has already started working on his fashion sense :)
cheers.
Hey Layla.....thank you. I do love that photo too. They hammed it up all evening for me.
Ah, to be 10 again and have the whole world ahead of you. Thanks for sharing your son's great day.
