Dusk on the Saint John River

A tip of the hat

A wink and a nod

A soft shuffle exit

A touch of elegance before the final curtain

One last beautiful breath

captured in the smooth sound of Sinatra....

Melodic right down to the last croon.

Encore!

Nice and easy does it every time......

Bravo!

This week's theme at Carmi's place is dusk. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago just up the hill from where i live. We are blessed to witness the glory of the sunset simply by looking out our window. But the best view is up on Springhill Road or down by the river's edge on an evening when the water turns to a pool of glass. Tonight, we are in for a stunner. You know, my dusk is someone's elses dawn. I like that thought. For more natural beauty, check out Carmi's blog. You're in for a colourful show.

Wow! Beautiful words and a beautiful sunset. How have you been? Sorry I have not been over here much...I haven't been much of anywhere really, been staying off the computer somewhat?)

Beautiful. Serene. Everything so still. Your words and your photos make it so real.

Do you get dusks like that every night?? Of course, you need a river to set it off with the reflections, but even so.....

I'm jealous!

OMG! If scenes like this don't inspire me to lead a better life, then nothing can.

I think I need to move to a place that offers built-in inspirational vistas. Living where I do - the flatlands, apparently - it's just not easy to see the sky.

Either that or I need to get out more :)

m2p...welcome back! I'm very well and will actually write more about how things are going tonight in a new post.

g...it was a stunningly still evening. Not often does the river look so serene.

dennis...thanks!

Gilly...the dusks and the dawns are heavenly on days when the sky is clear.

Carmi....inspirational and truly makes you feel surrounded by God's miracles. I think you need a trip to the Laurentians and the St. Lawrence eh?? And you can bring your family down here anytime. Lots of amazing beauty to photograph.
ps. More shots from last night to be posted.

I have been to the west coast of Canada, but never to the eastern part. Your photographs are so beautiful that I think I'll have to make a trip to the St John River someday. With my camera. On your porch!! Loved the words too.
