Sunset down by the Saint John River

If I close my eyes, I can see you walking in prayer.
Your cultivated silence lightens your movement
and radiates soft echos outward to touch others all around you.
How do you do that?

If I close my eyes, I can see you sitting in hushed harmony
cross legged in casual relaxation.
Your concentration is inwardly complete.
You breathe effortlessly
inhaling spirit,
exhaling gratitude and contentment.
Can you show me how to do that?

If I close my eyes, I can hear you speaking to me.
Your voice, with its inviting timbre reaches my frightened soul
like a cold compress on a hot fever.
It's alright, you say...........
I am the light, you say.
I love the sound of your voice.
I want to believe you.

When I open my eyes, and take the first steps across a bridge that reaches over a gaping transition,
I see you beside me from the corner of my eye.
I can feel you mostly......... that cultivated silence breathes energy towards me.
I feel it.
I hear your reassurance..........

I wonder...........if I was to widen my eyes enough to be able to look sideways, would I see you how I expected to, or would I see you as someone completely different?

You saw what you wanted to see. It's not about the sideways glances.

Dana, blessing and a peace that passeth all understanding!

Twain...thank you. I had a picture in my head of walking across a bridge as a symbol of transitions and then started wondering what it would be like to go for a walk with you know who by my side. :)

Susan. I did see what i wanted to see....even if it was just with the corner of my eye.

David. Yes you are. I'm glad you liked it. thank you.

Oh I love this, Dana.

I find that He looks just like He portrays himself. Honest, gentle, humble, unassuming, surprising, blunt, authentic, unashamed, tender, and life-affirming.

Well, those don't describe looks, but you know what I mean.

I do love Him so.

Beautiful picture!

Oh I also wanted to give you a heads up, I've started reviewing Harry Chapin's albums (in chronological order) on my reviews blog. I posted my review of Heads & Tails this morning and I've already started writing my review of Sniper & Other Love Songs. Also, you might want to check out my personal reflection/review/analysis of Story of a Life that I posted earlier this week. As you're a fellow fan of Harry I thought I'd share. :-)

Jen...thank you...I do love what you shared here too. :)

Darrin.... I am SO looking forward to reading your reviews and immersing myself in Mr. Chapin again. Your timing my friend is impeccable.
