You can never go back to what use to be,
Returning is not part of your destiny.
Whatever happened, its all in the past,
No matter what present shadows it casts.
How much control do we have as we live out our lives?
Those choices we made unfurled with surprise.
History leaves us scratching in pain
Sometimes joyful memories to revisit again.
It was what it was, but when its all said and done.
Those moments are part of what's yet to come
You can never go back to what used to be.....
Becoming is part of your destiny.

thank you for the nice compliment,I use to blog under Twain12 :)... changed my name in honor of my raven buddies that always seem to be around :)
WELL, I wondered if it was you! I'm glad we're in touch again Twain! The ravens are prolific this year. I've noticed them a lot lately.
I remember writing around the time of my father's passing how time moves in only one direction, and at only one velocity. We can reflect and pine all we want, but we can't go back.
I can always count on you to find the right words. Been thinking of you all week long...sending you happies down the Trans-Canada.
The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is
C S Lewis.
Carmi.... as much as we want to sometimes, life just doesn't work that way does it. So, we must continue to learn how to live in the moment while recognizing that we stand on the sacred ground of our history.
thank you for your happy thoughts down the Trans Canada. They have reached me!
Go Leafs!
David, that CS Lewis had a way with thoughtful words didn't he? Your comment made me laugh. :)
It's true. Becoming IS part of our destiny. I needed to hear this today. Thank you, Dana.
