Good on you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17192698.post-68019579423571790942009-02-26T19:49:00.000-04:002009-02-26T19:49:00.000-04:00scarlet..you are right...thank God i'm not a girl ...scarlet..you are right...thank God i'm not a girl stuck in the 80's. what do high powered women wear these days?awarenesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06098432781380754899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17192698.post-48764314508507661582009-02-26T18:06:00.000-04:002009-02-26T18:06:00.000-04:00Pumps & Powersuits are SOOOOOO 1980's anyw...Pumps & Powersuits are SOOOOOO 1980's anyway! :D

Come on over and set a spell ... I have a little gift for you!BlazngScarlethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240507708999563717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17192698.post-85011873622022355242009-02-26T09:08:00.000-04:002009-02-26T09:08:00.000-04:00Our social systems are in need of big repairs and ...Our social systems are in need of big repairs and as much as this particular group is trying to mend a small aspect of the bigger monster, we too have children and others who most definately fall through the cracks. However, given the size of this city, there is hope in the manageability of the issues.

So much could be fixed and made much more streamlined if there was political will and community enlightenment. Most of the people who fall through the cracks have no empowered voice. They are too busy surviving to yell out for change. Consequently, they go unnoticed don't they. It's a crime and a huge blight on humanity.

I do feel good about what we have accomplished and do see how a speakers bureau would offer a broader venue to help promote more involvement and awareness to others both within the gov't and non profit systems, and beyond to individuals and business who live and work in our communities.

Gypsy...good to see you up and about. yeah, I can't imagine where pumps and a power suit everyday. I'd feel like a fraud.

I do love being in action! haha! And quite frankly I need to be facilitating more often. I have a few training weeks and workshops coming up.

One of the personal "side effects" of this committee is that I had an opportunity a couple of years ago to teach a crisis counselling course at the University. I loved it! A few of those students have kept in touch which warms my heart because many of them graduated and moved on that year after exams. I will be teaching the course this fall again and am PUMPED to do it. I was so hoping it would be a part of what I would be doing at the university if I had managed to nail that counselling job. alas....no go. It didn't work out as I had hoped.

I havent been as active actually with this group in the past year or so because of work commitments and trying to find my own way in the myriad of employment, but always feel energized when i do manage to get to one of these meetings. So, hopefully, I can jump back into the foray more regularly again this spring because the dedication and passion these women bring to the table is infectious....and I applaud them for their tireless efforts.awarenesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06098432781380754899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17192698.post-83961908408999735132009-02-26T07:39:00.000-04:002009-02-26T07:39:00.000-04:00Dressing like a Gypsy is where it's at pussy cat. ...Dressing like a Gypsy is where it's at pussy cat.
